About JeannieJeannie Lin has been dancing, moving, and performing since she was about five years of age, including training in ballet, jazz, modern dance, and gymnastics. She continued to study a diverse array of dancing in her college years at UC Berkeley and eventually graduated with a minor in Dance and Performances. Her first experience with partner dancing was entering in International-style Ballroom and Latin competitions with the competitive ballroom dance team on campus.
One night, the ballroom dance team went to a salsa club just for fun after a competition. It was love at first sight as Jeannie found herself hooked right away onto this improvisational lead-follow dance style and immediately enrolled in the Ballroom Dance Teacher's College in the Bay Area while she was finishing up school. For 2 years she learned to lead and follow over 17 styles of partner dancing, including dances like Waltz, Foxtrot, Salsa, Samba, Cha-cha, and West coast swing. Later, she traveled to Buenos Aires for 3 months and got to do a deep dive into Argentine Tango! One of her greatest loves is blending all of her dance styles together into a dance style called Fusion. It's improvisational, creative, and connective - all of her favorite things. Jeannie has been teaching fusion for about 10 years. She's toured in 12 countries and 26 cities so far and she's still got more places to go! |
